I’m a bit late posting, apologies – with the snow and ice, and a busy week, I’m not sure where the time has gone!
How did I get on this week?
Nutrition
I definitely did better at healthy snacking this week. My favourites at the moment are Nakd cocoa orange bars, Blue Diamond almonds and bananas – what do you like to nibble on?
I’ve eaten the right amount of calories and have cut the saturated fat, although I am probably still eating more than I should be. I still need to work on reducing the sugar, but I’ve managed to up my water intake and definitely feel better for it. My goals for this week are more green tea, and to keep reducing the sugars!
Exercise
This has not been going well as I am suffering even more from hip pain, in fact my midwife thinks I have SPD and I am waiting for a doctor’s appointment. It’s actually really hard to move around at all and I’m getting quite frustrated. I hope to see a physio and try and get some tips for how to ease it, but I am having to accept that I may be very limited in what I can achieve until after the baby is born.
Wellbeing
I’m really seeing the benefits of limiting my screen time in the evenings, though the SPD is not helping my sleep very much. I’ve also been practicing some relaxation techniques like breathing, and am really finding them useful. I’ve got two more weeks left at work before I start maternity leave, so my main goal is to keep calm and keep resting until I have some time to relax.
How’s your January? Has the snow hampered your healthy plans? Let me know in the comments!
Sorry to hear you’re suffering with SPD, it doesn’t sound nice at all. I’m just eating everything I can get my hands on at the moment as I’m breastfeeding and the HV told me I need to eat 3000 cals a day! I get nowhere near that amount though xx
It really isn’t
I’m just praying it doesn’t get any worse! 3000 calories, wow that’s a fair amount – you need lots of calorie dense food like coconut milk, nuts etc – good fuel!
I hope you get that sorted soon- sounds very uncomfortable.
The snow has hampered my plans a bit- mainly running plans (although I have a cold too, so it might be a good thing I suppose)- was meant to be doing 3 miles today and 10 tomorrow. If the pavements are OK I might have a walk later and a short run tomorrow. Ah well, lots of baking instead I think.
Thank-you – I’m hoping the doctor can help me out, if not it should resolve once the baby is born at least! Take care running, it is very slippery out there – baking sounds good though
