Happy New Year, blog readers! Here’s to a healthy and happy 2013 for us all.
I just wanted to note down my New Year’s resolutions as I find there’s nothing like making them public to make me stick to them! I normally try and keep the list small and achievable – it’s so important to have aspirations, but they shouldn’t be too out of reach otherwise you will have given up by February.
Here are my four, from the serious to the frivolous:
1) Be the best mother I can be to our expected little one – shut out all the guilt and conflicting advice and concentrate on doing my best and getting to know them when they arrive.
2) Get back on track with a healthy eating plan, ASAP, as I’ve used pregnancy as a bit of an excuse to indulge and Christmas has made it even worse. I am going to start tracking my food again using MyFitnessPal, not to try and lose weight, as that would be very unhealthy at this stage in my pregnancy, but to make sure I don’t get too much sugar and that I get plenty of the fresh, nutritious food I enjoy and we both need. I aim to publish a weekly update on my progress on this, and then aim for some new fitness and health goals come May once we are settled with our baby.
3) Keep crocheting! This might be hard with a baby about, but I’ve loved learning to crochet this year. I received some gorgeous books this year for Christmas and should have plenty of inspiration, if I can find the time. I also get so much inspiration from the lovely ladies at the Hitchin Stitch & Bitch.
4) And finally – theĀ really frivolous one – wear more lipstick! I have some gorgeous lipsticks but tend to wear gloss more in summer, and default to tinted lip balm in winter. I always love it when I do wear it, so I resolve to get more wear out of my collection. Any tips for dry winter lips and lipstick wearing much appreciated – and any favourite colours or brands
2013 is going to hold so many changes – I’m excited, nervous and wondering, all at the same time. Do you make New Year’s resolutions?
Love the one of wearing more lipstick- I always resolve to paint my nails a bit more often, as I love it when I do it, but I hardly ever get around to it. Happy new year.
Thanks, Maria and here’s to a great 2013 for both of us! I love doing my nails but lippy always seems to get missed off the list
